North Center Neighbors: The work continues....

We (The North Center Neighbors - Irving Park Branch) continue communications with JCJ Development related to more proposed changes. We appreciate everyone's time and efforts.

The History of North Center Neighbors

We were founded in April of 2007 to make everyone aware of a proposed zoning change that would have allowed construction of a mammoth 7-story building at 1820-42 W. Irving Park Road.

A small group decided that there was an urgent need for us to band together and help the North Center community speak as one voice.

In 1 week's time, hundreds of petitions were signed and the group had grown to over 200 people.

A short time later we were alerted that another group of residents was also coming together as North Center Neighbors.
They too were fighting against over development on their blocks.
So we decided to band together to form a stronger group.

With this merger we now have a very large group of residents willing to do what ever it takes to preserve the character of North Center.
And we are still growing.

We here from new members all the time.
